FRC 111 Beginning French I -
The course covers the fundamentals of French grammar as a foundation for speaking, understanding, reading, and writing the language. It includes brief readings in the everyday aspects of the French-speaking world. In addition to gaining an understanding of the fundamentals of French grammar, students develop a basic working vocabulary of 500 words. Previous knowledge of French is not required. FRC 112 Beginning French II -
Students progress further in the foundations of the language, including understanding, speaking, reading, and writing. Students improve reading and speaking skills through the study of short pieces on contemporary French life and culture. Students study the French grammatical structure and develop a working vocabulary of 850 words. They also read and respond to short, simple French texts. Credits: 3
